Next, we go to the small village of Kaminaki, where you will pick fresh ingredients straight from local gardens. You will also have the chance to milk goats and experience traditional farming life in Crete.
Then, we head to the charming village of Tzermiado, where our cooking class takes place in a local taverna. With the help of local chefs, you will learn to make delicious Cretan dishes like:
- Dakos – a refreshing dish with tomatoes and local cheese
- Dolmadakia – vine leaves stuffed with rice and herbs
- Tzatziki – a yogurt dip with cucumber, garlic, and herbs
- Mizithropitakia – small pies filled with mizithra, a traditional cheese
As you cook, enjoy a glass of homemade raki or a cup of Greek coffee.
After the class, you will have free time to explore Tzermiado. If you like, you can stay at the taverna and enjoy a meal made with fresh, local ingredients.
Cretan food is famous for being healthy and full of flavor. The Cretan diet is part of the Mediterranean tradition and is known for helping people live long, healthy lives. This tour will not only teach you to cook but also give you a taste of Crete’s rich culture and traditions.
